§ 18-6. Damage to Village property.

  • (a)

    Any person who shall damage Village property, including, without limitation, Village streets and/or right-of-way, shall be responsible for the prompt repair of such damage.

    (b)

    Any property owner, builder or permit holder shall be responsible for any damage to Village property, including, without limitation, Village streets and/or right-of-way, which occurs in the course of the erection, construction, development, modification, alteration or repair of a building or structure, whether caused by such owner, builder or permit holder, or one of their respective agents, contractors, subcontractors or other entity associated with the project.

    (c)

    If the property owner, builder or permit holder fails to promptly repair such damage, the Village may suspend the applicable building permit until the repairs are made to the satisfaction of the Village engineer.

    (d)

    Each application for a building permit must contain an agreement, signed by the property owner and contractor, acknowledging and agreeing to be bound by the provisions of this chapter.
