§ 1-10. Penalties for violation; continuing violations; enforcement.

  • (a)

    Any violation of this Code or any Village ordinance:

    (1)

    Shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $150.00 nor more than $750.00, unless otherwise specifically provided;

    (2)

    When declared a "misdemeanor," shall be punishable by incarceration for a period not exceeding six months, in addition to a fine of not less than $150.00 nor more than $750.00, unless otherwise specifically provided;

    (3)

    In addition to any fine and/or incarceration, as applicable, shall be punishable by a requirement that reasonable public service work be performed, including without limitation picking up litter on public land and maintenance of public facilities;

    (4)

    Shall include causing, allowing, permitting, aiding, abetting, suffering, or concealing the fact of, such violation; and

    (5)

    If a continuing violation, shall be deemed a separate and independently punishable violation on each day it continues.

    (b)

    This Code and all Village ordinances shall be enforced pursuant to the procedures provided. In addition, the Village is expressly authorized, and reserves the right, to pursue all other legal remedies available at law or in equity, including without limitation injunctive relief and restitution.
