§ 2-2. Meetings of the Village Board.

  • (a)

    Regular meetings. The regular meetings of the Village Board shall be held in the Village Hall on the second Monday of each calendar month at 6:00 p.m.; provided, however, that when the day fixed for any regular meeting falls upon a day designated by law as a legal or national holiday, such meeting shall be held at the same hour on the succeeding day that is not a holiday. Any change in the date, time or place of a regular meeting shall be made by the Board of Trustees and notice thereof provided in accordance with the Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/1 et seq.).

    (b)

    Special meetings. The President or any three Trustees of the Village Board may call special meetings of the Village Board. The person calling the meeting shall request such meeting: (1) during a regular meeting of the Village Board, setting forth the purpose of the special meeting and the day and hour thereof; or (2) file with the Clerk a signed, written statement, setting forth the purpose of the special meeting and the day and hour thereof, which shall not be less than three days from the filing of the statement. If the special meeting is called by signed written statement, the Clerk shall prepare and cause to be served upon the President and each Trustee, at least 24 hours before the time fixed for such meeting, a written notice stating the purpose, time, and place of the meeting. If the notice of special meeting cannot be personally served, then a copy may be left in the mailbox located at the residence of the official.

    (c)

    Requirements for all meetings. All meetings of the Village Board shall comply with the Illinois Open Meetings Act, 5 ILCS 120/1 et seq., and shall further be conducted in conformance with the most current edition of Robert's Rules of Order to the extent such rules of order are applicable and not inconsistent with law or any rules of order the Village Board may adopt.
