§ 2-227. Publication.

  • (a)

    Contents of notice. All proposals to award purchase orders or contracts described herein shall be published at least ten days in advance of the date announced for the receiving of bids in a newspaper of general circulation in the Village and shall simultaneously be posted on a public board in the Village Hall. The notice for bidding shall contain such information as the following:

    (1)

    A description of the work or supplies needed;

    (2)

    The time and place where copies of the contract, specifications and the bidding documents, if any, may be found;

    (3)

    The time and place scheduled for the opening of bids;

    (4)

    A statement that all bids must be accompanied by cash, certified check or bank draft in the amount of ten percent of the bid and that no bid will be considered unless so accompanied;

    (5)

    A statement that the Village may reject all bids; and

    (6)

    A statement that the Village retains the right to waive minor irregularities in a bid.

    (b)

    Notice of labor and material bond. In the event that a labor and material bond is required by State law such information shall be included in the notice for bidding.
