§ 46-28. Notice regulating solicitation.

  • (a)

    A Village resident may limit or deny solicitation by requesting from the Chief of Police a weatherproof card, approximately three inches by four inches in size, with one-third inch letters, indicating the residence's desired level of solicitation. The card shall contain one of the following phrases:

    (1)

    "Only Solicitors Registered in Bartonville Invited;" or

    (2)

    "No Solicitors Invited."

    The resident shall display the card upon or near the main entrance door to the residence.

    (b)

    For the purpose of uniformity the Chief of Police shall provide the cards at cost to any party requesting such a card.

    (c)

    A card displayed in accordance with Subsection (a) of this Section shall constitute sufficient notice to a solicitor.
