§ 74-518. Satellite antenna requirements.

  • Satellite antennas in all zoning districts shall comply with the following requirements:

    (1)

    Restrictions. Only a satellite antenna measuring less than one meter (39.37 inches) in diameter shall be permitted.

    (2)

    Location. Satellite antennas shall be located only in the rear yard of any lot or on the roof of any building, provided the addition of the satellite antenna does not violate building height restrictions for the applicable zoning district. In the event that no usable satellite signal can be obtained in the rear yard and roof locations, the satellite antenna shall then be located in the side yard. In the event that no usable satellite signal can be obtained in the rear yard, roof and side yard, the satellite antenna may then be located in the front yard or elsewhere on a building.

    (3)

    Aesthetics. To the greatest extent practicable, satellite antenna shall be finished in a nongarish, nonreflective color and surface, and placed so as to minimize obtrusiveness.
